I watched the movie Felon yesterday. I’ve never actually heard of it until I got it. It’s a movie about a husband and father that goes to prison for what was “almost” an act of self-defense. Basically the whole movie just shows what he goes through in prison. Sorry, I know the description is vague but I can’t give anything away. Trust me, it’s a great movie. I think this bursts into my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

SPOILER ALERT!! Don’t read on if you plan on reading or watching The Mist.
Earlier today I finished reading a Stephen King book titled The Mist. I thought it was a pretty good book, and it had a very open ending. Well, it really didn’t have an ending – you have to use your imagination I guess. I thought it would be interesting to watch the movie right after finishing the book. I was surprised to see how much the movie actually followed the book. One noticeable difference was the graphic content in the movie. Of course gore and stuff like that are much easier to see than read. I guess you can’t get too gory with words. The big big difference between the book and the movie was the end. Like I said, the end of the book was non-existent. The end of the movie was one of the most depressing endings I’ve ever seen. To sum it up – in the end of the book they are in a deserted building, trying to get out of the mist. Then it ends. That’s it. In the movie, they are driving through the mist looking for a way out and run out of gas. They all realize it’s over so the main character shoots his little boy along with the three other passangers (to end their suffering). With no bullets left, he gets out of the car wanting to be killed by the monsters in the mist. Funny enough, minutes after he kills everyone and gets out of the car, the military rolls by – the mist clears and everyone is saved (except the people he just killed). Woops.
Either way I’d highly recommend the book and movie, if you can handle it.

Back sometime in or around the year 2003 I made a little song with the Finale Music Composition Software. Unfortunately it isn’t complete (and never will be). It’s definitely worth listening to though! So now for your listening pleasure (press play below), I present: Mikes Song

Have you ever seen an error like this when deleting, renaming, or moving a file or folder? Unlocker is probably the most useful program I have come across. Why? Because it will find what files are being used by a certain process and allow you to break the connection to the file you are trying to modify. If you ever receive the error above, it will automatically open up and give you some options:

This is VERY useful, especially for external hard drives. It also puts a link in the context menu so you can right click a file and see what files are using it. Give it a try! Best part about it? It’s free!!

As some or none of you may know, I had the opportunity to go to a Dave Matthews Band concert in West Palm Beach. Just for fun here is audio of one of the highlights of the night for me (So Much To Say/Anyone Seen The Bridge/Too Much). Just in case you’re wondering: yes, recording and distributing audio of concerts is legal for DMB. Enjoy! (click the play button below)

I stopped by IMDb’s Top 250 movies of all time to discover The Dark Knight has taken over the #1 spot, pushing aside The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather. It’s only been out for a week so there will still be a lot more voting, but I can’t see it dropping below a 9.1 rating. I think I might have to see this movie.

I’ve always prided myself on answering “notepad” to the question “What program do you use to make websites?” That changed after I found Editplus. Editplus is a great program for editing websites. Here are a few key features that makes it great:
- Colorizes the text for easy reading
- Shows line numbers (great for debugging)
- Easy navigation directory on the left side
- Can have multiple files open in tabs
- Has a useful backup option – will always keep a copy of the original when you save
- Adds a link to the context menu (when you right click a file)
- Recent files list
Keep in mind, these are the key features I find useful. This program offers much much more. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately it’ll cost you $35 … unless you can find a way around that. Take a look.

I decided to do some “research” to figure out just how much I’d be spending ($$) on a new desktop PC. I’ve actually taken quite some time to research what I would need… so here’s the run down:
Okay so that might be a little out of my budget. Lets not forget I still need to buy a printer… and probably will get a new heatsink for the CPU so I can overclock it a little. Keep in mind though that I am not planning on buying this new beast until USB3 is out. So not only does that mean I’m going to have to modify my choices (to get a USB3 mobo), but prices will also be down quite a bit by then – especially the burner, hard drives, and memory. Come on, let a man dream…

Hi all. I would say this is the first post, but it’s not. For some reason when I restarted my computer it deleted everything except the theme! So, here is the non-first post. More to come!
